Let one thought lead to another.

A study method that turns what you read and watch into thinking of your own. Mark what matters, dig into what you do not understand yet, and follow one idea into the next.

The method

Reading is not studying

Highlighting a page is easy. Studying starts when you decide what matters, put it in your own words, work out what you still do not understand, and connect one idea to the next.

Arborized gives you a method for doing exactly that, and the structure to keep going deeper.

01

Mark what matters

Not everything deserves the same weight. Three colours, and only three, so you have to choose instead of painting the whole page.

02

Put your thinking beside it

Write why it mattered while you still remember why, in your words and not the book's. And when a chapter ends, say it back shorter, the way you understood it.

03

Ask it, then go find out

Write the question where it came up, and go after it right there: expand the passage, look up the word, see who has answered it before. What you find gets written next to the question, and both stay.

04

Follow the branch

A name, a date, a word you do not know: open it without losing your place, get the context you need, and follow the connections that matter.

05

Build your own index

What you choose to keep becomes a page you write yourself. Open the material a year later and you do not start over: you read your page and go straight to what you need.

06

Test what actually stuck

Review built from what you marked, wrote and asked, never from someone else's deck.

07

Sit longer than you can today

Nobody starts able to concentrate for an hour. Begin with twenty-five minutes, add five when you are ready. Concentration, curiosity and the eye for connections are skills, and this is how they grow.

08

Give it your full attention

Studying happens on a computer, in Chrome or Edge. A screen big enough to work on, your files staying on your own machine, and the phone somewhere it cannot interrupt you.

What you work on

Study what you actually want to understand

Your subjects. Your curiosity. Your own interests.

A subject you are taking. A book you cannot stop thinking about. A question that came from nowhere and stayed. Something you need for work, or something you simply want to understand properly.

Arborized does not hand you another pile of content to get through, and it does not decide what is worth learning. You decide that, and then you bring whatever material helps you work through it.

Your files stay on your computer. Your marks, notes, questions and connections stay together in Arborized.

Reading leaves a mark.Studying leaves a record.

What lasts

Most of what we study fades

The book ends. The video finishes. The term is over. The notebook closes and the PDF sinks into a folder nobody opens again.

Weeks later you remember that something mattered, but not quite what it was, or what you thought about it at the time.

The valuable part was never the file. It was what you noticed, questioned and connected while working through it.

Arborized keeps that thinking attached to what sparked it, ready for whatever you understand next.

What you build

A body of knowledge that is yours

Your subjects change. Your interests change. The question you cannot let go of this year is not the one you had two years ago. Arborized gives every one of them somewhere to connect.

Folders you name, indexes you write, questions you take further every time you come back to them. One subject can reach into another, and what you understood in one place is there when you need it in the next.

Nothing here was built to expire. It was built to expand. A year from now, what you worked through today is still yours, in your words, and open to more.
